I've seen pic's of her with a new "Gyrolite" in the nose, class lights in, NO ditch lights, and cab side windows clear again, but when the heck is she gonna' get painted?!
I can't find any current info on the unit. I thought I read somewhere (NPHS mag maybe?) that they wanted to have it ready for the next NP convention. That would be in Spokane next month and I know that they do have a train ride planned from Sand Point, ID to Paradise, MT. MRL will crew it and BNSF is providing the passenger equipment for the train.
Ya', don't think that's gonna happen with the '45. I saw a pic a month ago, and all that was done so far was the new Mars-Light, repositioned the headlight to the top, and put in the cab corner windows that were plated over, stil in WC paint.
Thought most of that work has been done for a while now, more than a month ago?Did they ever get a generator for it? Sounds like they're being kinda quiet about the project, it'll probably just appear out of nowhere one day all done.
This is the only pic I could find, March 20th, 2010. It's noted on there that the main generator, water pumps, and the computer were snatched by CN when handed over! So might be awhile before she runs. She'll look awesome though!:teeth:
Thats the only pic of it that I keep finding out there too, besides one of it right after it arrived at the museum. That was almost three months ago now, alot can be done in that amount of time even at a somewhat slow pace.
