Spokane, WA is snowed in, Portland was frozen for a couple of weeks, but we on the Oregon coast have unique winter problems. We had about five inches of rain in a 36 hour period right after New Years. That, accompanied by 80+mph wind gusts, caused some sand to blow, I don't know how, as it was soaked, heavy and wet. It also caused some of our near vertical cliffs to cave in. No one was hurt, but folks were evacuated and a few may have lost their homes.
