Hello all- I'm an N-scaler who is tired of waiting for a Ten Wheeler in my usual scale. I have always liked the Spectrum 4-6-0. I may buy one for a smallish shelf type layout. My idea is a 1910 - 1915 era short line. I'd like some recommendations as to a good coach, baggage and / or combine (50' length truss rod under frame if possible). Your thoughts on the Spectrum 4-6-0 low drivered version would also be appreciated. Thanks,

    Bill

Both versions of the engine (low and high boiler) are excellent runners and the look great as well. I have 2 of the low-boiler units and they are fantastic after some weathering and a conversion to DCC. (I used a digitrax DZ-123) in both of mine.

The only thing I changed on the engines were the headlights. I'm not fond of LED headlights on steam engines, so I switched them out for 1.5 volt bulbs.

As for passenger cars, MDC/Roundhouse cars can be pretty nice after some detailing.

I don't have the 4-6-0. But they look very nice.

I recently put decoders in my HO steamers.

The spectrum 2-8-0 and 4-8-2 lgt Mntn.

I am very happy with both of them.
