I wanted to check out the tracks that run from the Marias Pass route to some local industries. Can't get over there because yer always on the wrong side of the double track and the crossovers don't seem to respond to the "G" key command. Are some tracks truly off limits? Russ
Been there, done that. Was trying to get over to the turntable at Whitefish. Finally figured out how to call the Dispatcher on the red light, but the switch would not throw. I finally figured out why. It is protected. Only the Dispatcher can throw it unless you go into the Activity Editor and edit it. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by tehachapifan: I wanted to check out the tracks that run from the Marias Pass route to some local industries. You can only call the Dispatcher to clear a red light, I think . Sounds like you are like me and didn't completely read the Keyboard Shortcuts. Only took me two days to find out how . It is under Other Commands.Request permission to pass Stop signal, Tab Key.
In the above situation, I have had no luck with the "tab key" signal request (nothing happens). Does it take a long time before the signal clears? Russ
What I got was a reply of "Proceed", audio, then went through the light. This came just as soon as I hit the tab key. I went on through the light but ran into the switch that would not throw. I think if you run a red, it is end of game if you do not have permission.
OK, I just fired it up and checked out the red lights. Yes, if you go through a red, activity ends. If you press the tab key you get "Permission Granted". Just remember to stop prior to hitting the tab key.
As per sound, on my 'puter, I had to reinstall the drivers for my sound card before I could get all the sounds. You might try that.
