    Paul, I love these locomotives! I have been to Merelbeke depot many times during railtours, and photographed a sister locomotive during one visit.

    Yes William, that is a typical european screw coupler. The loop is placed over the hook on the other vehicle, and is screwed up tight to slightly compress the buffers so there is no slack action.
