Yesterday I went for a cab ride with my friend, who's a driver at the Belgian Railways on freight trains.

This time we went to Somain in France. Here you see the locomotive 1211 standing in Somain after the inbound freigt cars were uncoupled.

We had to wait for 2 hours before the locomtive could be coupled to the outbound cars, so we did some trainspotting in the yard of which I will also post pics :D

WOW! You are very lucky! I have ridden in the cab of a class 11, which I suspect is the same as a class 12, and it was excellent! The ride along the main line at quite high speed was very smooth (in fact, smoother than in the old steam-era coaches of our special train) :D
