Well, I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd finally register. I'm a 51yr old N scale noob, just dipping my big toe in the N scale waters, after dabbling in O scale for the last few years- HO for a long while before that. The reason for the tentative scale change is a lack of space for the long trains and big scenery I'd like to have, or the mainline distance needed for a good TT&TO type layout a'la Bill Darnaby (ever imagined an N scale Maumee type layout?) or Steve King's Virginia Midland. So far I'm impressed with the detail and reliable running of the current N scale offerings. I'll be looking through the board posts for inspiration and advice. So many of you are doing such great things it's hard not to be inspired! Thanks! Rick
Welcome to TrainBoard! Plenty of information in our N Scale Forum post archives. If you don't see it there, just ask. Also be sure to check out some of the other Forums available. We have a Swap Meet for Sell/Want/Trade; A Layout design; DCC & Electronics; and The Inspection Pit for questions on scenery, paint, and more. These should keep you plenty busy with ideas.
