I figured since I've been busy setting up shop on Shapeways for a while, I would share some of my new products here on Trainboard with everyone. First up, a very common and ubiquitous sight.... the warehouse forklift, available in N and HO scales and in 1,2,3 and 5 packs with wide or narrow forks. http://shpws.me/I6iq Next up, a set of six pairs of Southern Pacific light clusters, in as built configuration. Also available separately in flat and angled back versions if only one type of cluster is desired. http://shpws.me/K4ud Also available is a set of six pairs of Southern Pacific light cluster, in rebuilt configuration, perfect for second hand leasers, ex-SP units and many other locomotives with SP descent. Also available separately in flat and angled back versions if only one type of cluster is desired. http://shpws.me/K4mB Finally, EMD exhaust silencers for both Kato and Intermountain units, perfect for tunnel motors and 80's era EMDs. Kato: http://shpws.me/JWa9 IMRC: http://shpws.me/JW7k Thanks for looking, more to come soon! And as always, suggestions are taken for any parts that are unavailable from my shop: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/wuttervehicles
The forklifts appear well designed and at $25 for 5 ($5 apiece) not bad pricewise. I have seen a lot of stuff from shapeways that, quite frankly, I thought was way overpriced, at least for me. But again the devil is in the details what about finishing (prepping, filing, sanding, etc.)?
Hi Inkaneer, Theres actually very little finishing work that needs to be done with forklifts printed in FXD, they look like this fresh out of a Bestine bath without any scrubbing:
I purchased the SP lights from you, gonna see how they match up against my NSN ones I have. I'm hoping they look better, we'll see! Mike
Thanks for the purchase Mike! I noticed that yesterday but I wasn't sure if it was you. I never had any of the NSN lights but I did have some of the Sunrise ones and I think mine have better surface detailing comparatively. I'd love to know what you think when you get yours. Just make sure to soak them in Bestine for 24 hours before painting. Alvin
Alvin, sounds good. I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I've never had any Sunrise ones. Ha! For sure, I'll let you know how they look, and post some pics as well. Also, taking in your "suggestions" comment from above, have you thought about making a cushion draft gear box? I have some old NSN ones and I'm quickly running out of them, they make body mounting soo much easier!!!! Here is a few pics of them on a boxcar. They are plain, and they are quite a bit narrower than a stock MT box. Plus, I can't get the MT box to stick out as far, to really give it the look of the prototype. I'd be down for a couple hundred or so Mike
How about doing the older SP light packages...GP-9 and SD-7/9 and maybe something for the switchers as well? We were lucky to have Sunrise, but they left a HUGE hole when they stopped making most of their products, especially if you modeled the SP.
I currently have the old style sealed twin beam headlight available but I can also put some work into a version that is the vertical gyralight with the UDE. http://shpws.me/KlPq

New product for this weekend: EMD Anticlimbers! http://shpws.me/LaH4 The extended coupler boxes from above have been revised with feedback from our very own pastoolio and should now be a perfect fit for Accumates and McHenry couplers. MicroTrains compatability is tentative as they will fit properly and have the cutouts for centering nubs but I still need to do some additional tests for 100% confirmation. And as a reminder, for today only: Take $10 off all Frosted Detail Plastic orders of $30 or more! Use code FROSTY2015 at checkout
I again humbly request anticlimbers with NS style top-mounted ditch light housings... Pretty pretty please!!!
What locomotive model would you be looking to fit this suggested anticlimber on? Pictures or a NS number series and I can take a look at what I can do.
