This was posted on the AOL N Scale board today. FT locomotives will be announced at the N Scale collectors convention in Reno, Nevada at the end of June. The manufacturer will be Micro Trains. These will not be limited runs according to the original post. The announcement will be in June but the models will not be expected untill early 2001. No roadnames or pricing announced. Let/'s see this is June 1st, April 1st was two months ago. Oh I hope not! But hey, if Atlas can get into the truck and coupler business Micro Trains can do engines. After all they do Z scale stuff.

Thats absolutly fantastic news. I sure hope they keep their quality on par with the Kato stuff.

Another company entering the "Real" (flywheel/skew wound) n-scale locomotive market is Model Power.

I just read in N-Scale that Model Power is releasing a Pacific Steamer this winter. Its motor is supposed to have more torque than the Kato motor!

Ohh yeah! There goes next year's train budget. A friend is working with them to hopefully produce some Seaboard Air Line and Atlantic Coastline units. Looks like I'm going to have some nice freight trains in the near future! Hope they do some undecs. Can't miss out on a string of Southern FT's either.

    OK let's see -- GP38-2s! Hmmmmm. [IMG]

MicroTrains may not become the Athearn of N scale locomotives, but they may become the Stewart of N scale. Any additional locomotive manufacturers in N scale is a good thing [IMG]

I am very happy to see MT's entry into the n scale loco market. I agree with an earlier post about them hopefully becoming the Stewert of n-scale. I urge each of you to e-mail your feelings on the subject to them as I did. The more the merrier!

WHAT? Another old junky loco? What is this, huh? Where's the SD120's and Dash-11's? I've been bombarding GMDD and GE about not producing more modern locomotives in real life and now this in the model world.
I need a time machine. [IMG]

    Disclaimer
Of course, I am JOKING! [IMG] Do not take the above seriously.

seriously, this is the loco that turned the tide against steam. It is an important piece of America's rail history and has been missed in N. Now let's see that demo scheme, eh? [IMG]
