I've been routinely been posting new N scale product announcements to TrainBoard for over a year now. More often than not, the post gets "0" replies. Unlike the Atlas N Forum, which shows the number of times a topic has been accessed, I have no way of knowing if anyone is reading these TrainBoard posts or just ignoring them. Do you guys and gals still want me to post the new product announcements or not? Regards
Don, I always read them (I have a professional interest) But I suspect most members regard them as a source of information, rather than a topic for discussion, and go and check out the links. Don't be discouraged, we appreciate the information you provide. BTW, these cars are rather too early for my era. [ 15 April 2002, 07:32: Message edited by: Alan ]
Don, here is some more positive feedback.I eNjoy your postings as they keep me up to date on whats coming.
Don, I read everyone of them, and many times check out the links. I agree with Alan, that I didn't think a reply was necessary, but I will make a point to do so in the future. BTW Those folks on the Atlas forum are real "chatty"
I agree with the above - Keep up the good work Don. The saying goes in N scale " a new product ain't official until Don Brown posts" As far as response - you could have a one sentence post on the weather on Atlas and it will start a 3 page thread LOL
Don, We're not as chatty as the Atlas bunch (and it's not as uncivl here either ), but don't let that keep you from posting new N scale news here. Quite a few of us N scalers base posts on what's announced on the Web, and your posts just add to that fine service. You want a chatty post, go check out my post on the new Genesis covered hopper from Athearn. After seeing the prices those looneytunes are asking for the hopper, I'll never gripe about high N scale prices again! Matter of fact, all y'all need to go check it out.
don i'm glad you post them, more often than not at the other forums such as atlas sometimes they become "not another _ _ _ _ _, we need more of _ _ _ or whatever" draws, it seems this way is better.
Don, I particularly like the announcements, as I am not always surfing to find what hot and new in N scale. I have bought stuff that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, had you not posted it! Keep 'em coming, and we'll try to reply to them more often!
I always enjoy your posts Don, getting outbid on ebay by you is another. What do you want with all those U30's & C30-7's anyway? LOL! Seriously though, keep up the good posts. You keep us well informed. Brian
Don, I read all your posts on this board and the Atlas board. Like others, I appreciate them as they help keep me up to date, just as I have appreciated your responses to a couple of my posts. I agree with others: this group is less inclined to argue the time of day or say,"Why don't they do this instead of that!". Keep us posted, you're the most knowlegeable N scaler I know!
Don, Even if I am myself a subscriber of Atlas emailed-news, I don't consider anything official or worth of interest unless you post about it Please keep us "updated" Thanks, marc
I'll throw my 2 cents in here Don, I always look forward to all of your posts. They almost always take me either to something new, or somewhere new. I'd say about a third of my railroad bookmarks are from postings you made. Keep up the good work!
I do read these Announcement postings. Guess that I simply looked at them more as informational, rather than being topics for discussion. BoxcabE50
Don, If you go to the Atlas forum a lot as I do, you know that a thread can have ten posts, yet three hundred readers. I have tried to hint here gently that having a count of readers would be good for moral, as your post has just illustrated. I will suggest it again in the crummy. I know that I have posted to the Atlas forum with zero response, yet over 80 have read it. I don't ever respond to new products, whether here or in the Atlas forum. If it is something I want I check it out, since I have halted spending on all engines to get the layout up and running faster, this means that excitement for new product releases has dwindled. But I know for a fact that people do use the links to check out new stuff.
