John, Thanks for the comments. I think we might just be able to convert you yet There is always plenty of variety when it comes to diesels, especially on CSX. In the first picture, the lease unit behind the CSX diesel is a very pale lime green color Harold
Harold - It isn't the main subject of your photo, but it looks like you caught the same interesting mint-green HLCX SD40 I photographed in Cumberland this past summer. Here's a couple of my photos: You can see more pictures here: http://www.trainweb.org/marcrailfan/cumberland.html Interesting that the numberboards are now black numbers on white now, whereas my photos are the opposite - when did you photograph that unit? Is the Dec 8 date on the photos the date you took the picture or the day you scanned it? When I saw the unit, it was dead-in-tow with a bunch of other Helm units, presumably being returned to the leaser. Perhaps it was serviced and sent back to CSX with new numberboards?
Harold, You do a fine job at capturing the loco's in the pictures! I have a hard time getting pictures even tho I see the loco's everyday and all so... But my digital camera is soooooo slow its pathetic! I wish it would be faster so I could get the loco's on the run! I'd have tons and tons of pictures by now... On the "convert", its more to the "half breed" My train true love for now as its always been is steam. And always will be but I am fond of diesels on certain ones the first and second generation anyway. I'm just now getting into the fourth generation with the AC's and all.... But I got the start of them! I got a C44-9W in CSX for a Christmas gift this year from the lady friend. Which was a stunning gift, and being its a newer diesel...So, I got the first of many more to come and to add to the diesel fleet I already have... Now to add to it and make a good lash up of them!
hey, harold, the update looks great, and as usual, great quality of pics. If you get a chance, look at my website, www.csxphotos.com, i think youll like the videos. Hunter
