Today I seen a road I never have seen before. It was on the CP line running through Camp Douglas Wis. One 50' high cube dark blue boxcar marked MMA. Followed by two red/ brown 50' welded boxcars marked MMA, also the herald on the side of the standard cars said Montreal, Maine & Atlantic. Funny thing is that the words were in a sheild like the one used by the Bangor and Aroostock line. Has anyone seen this road before or is it just that I'm in Wisconsin and not the East coast?
Andy- If I recall correctly, MMA is the company that took over the Bangor & Aroostook. Hence a similar logo. Boxcab E50
Ken, That would explain the logo. Hank thanks for the site page.Every once and a while I'll catch something that is new to me run by. It's hard to photograph most of the trains since the posted speed through town is 45mph.Also a lot of the trains get by me because I can't make it to the door to watch them. On an average day I'll see between 10 and 15 trains.
Yes Ken, I keep it in my office. But by the time I hear the train coming and run to my office for the camera and back again they are just about through. If I keep the camera with me it would have so much feed dust on it you wouldn't see the picture! I did get a few shots of four Milw. ballast cars parked on the siding.
Hmmmm. We'll need to do something about that timing problem. Either get you tapped into the DS circuit. Or maybe a scanner. After all, what's more important? Photographing a train? Or work? Boxcab E50
The most recent issue of Railfan & Railroad has an article on the MM&A- apparently they're running a dog's-breakfast roster of rent-a-wreck GEs as the majority motive power. However, the scenery is something to behold- wide open, tree-covered, great place to get lost in. IIRC, Charlie lives fairly close to the MM&A.....
