Is it me, or did I miss the announcement from Rix Products about the impending release of their Pikestuff line in N scale? Judging from what I've read in the product listing, we N folk are in for a real treat! :D
If this is old news, my humblest apologies. I do wish they'd come out with the telephone poles in N scale- the HO poles look sweet! [IMG]
Anywho, the site is Rix Products N scale Pikestuff

Well, its kinda old news but you would be surprized at how few people know anything about it.

By the way Rick told me in email that depending on how well the N scale Pikestuff sells will determine wether he will do the rest of the HO stuff in N scale

Yep, that's me [IMG] :D News travels slow out here- must be the mountain passes :D but I'm glad I've heard about it now- I can envision lotsa kitbashing possibilities.

You can bet I'll do my best to keep him busy! I enjoyed the Pikestuff buildings so much in HO, and I waited long for them to come out in N scale.

You and me both Bob. I have a nine foot long industrial park to build and most of it will be PikeStuff buildings.

Looking at what Rick has in HO (as a way of understanding what the N-scale models will be like) I think that it is fair to say that we are heading into some great times, at least as far as prefab buildings go. Micro Engineering hasn't done anything more in their line of buildings in quite a while, so the new buildings from Rix will be welcome.

    CATT,
I just sent the company an email basically stating not to copy what is happening in HO. HO is steam/diesel transition stuff, buildings included, many N'rs are contemporary. If I never see another red brick building in this lifetime it will be too soon.

N scale needs taller more contemporary structures with larger footprints than what is out there. We should be able to routinely get 10 and 12 stories structures, 5 stories should almost be the norm, instead of copying HO buildings that are one and two stories high.

    Catt,
I saw their industrial stuff and didn't see one red brick. I just want to encourage some one to get more modern stuff out there for us, I know there is a market and no one is really cashing in on it.

Somehow I think Rick Rideout is gonna cash in on it cause he's doing the entire HO PikeStuff in N. Now if Micro Engineering would expand their line we would have modern metal covered in N scale :D

I hope hedoes the SmallTown series too. I know they are brick but itys different than DPMs brick stuff.

Speaking of DPM it would be nice if they expanded the N scale modular line to match the HO line.

Me Too ! I hadn't heard about this, and it's going to save me lots of kitbashing ME buildings to fill my industrial park. Now if only I could find one of those old N scale Pizza Hut kits...

The kit posted on their website looks great. I just wonder when these much needed modern era kits are going to be released. The web page says sometime in the spring.

It's good to see another supplier [IMG] getting into N scale building kits. We've had to rely on Walthers too much and they have certainly shifted into low gear as far as N scale is concerned.
