Hello all, I have been a lurker just recently and have gotten some good info in just a few days to help with my 1st recent purchase. :)

So about be, I collected HO and N trains with my oldest brother when I was a kid. I was 8 years old when I got my 1st Marklin Engine, then he went into the Air Force and my collecting stopped.
When I say collecting, we had a double 4x8 set-up with all the usual fun stuff back in 1966 to 1968.

Then I got back into it in the 1989 with my two sons, we did two 8x4 boards also and lots of mixed stuff Lima, Marklin, Proto 2000 and so on. That lasted a few years.

And now I am into it again at the ripe old age of 55. I was reading and article about the 1934/35 Pioneer Zephyr. and that let to the GM Aerotrain and more. So I get in the mood to do some Railroading again, and I know from other hobbies , what better way to gain knowledge and info and on a good solid Forum.

I have my 1st new train purchase underway, kinda going a little weird, got a deal on the GM Aerotrain in HO Scale from ConCor, could of sworn it said one day handling time, but now that I read my email receipt, they take 7 days to process the order, holy moly.

Has anyone dealt with them , are they on the level and ok to deal with. The set was on sale for a really good price.'

Well nice to be on here, Flaps / Chris

Hi Chris, Welcome to the Train Board, happy to have you on board. I have not dealt directly with Con-Cor, but have several of their N-Scale products, including the Pioneer Zephyr which is outstanding.

Welcome aboard Flaps. Was that nickname something that came from an aviation adventure?

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

Con Cor should be just fine. They are a large operation, being combination retailer/distributor/importer/manufacturer. Their volume might be why the time required to get it out to you.

Welcome aboard! I guess a lot of the time is relative; 7 days sound long anymore, but it strikes me that it wasn't that long ago that the standard was 6-8 weeks. Good luck, hope it arrives soon and in good order and that you have a lot of fun with it!

Thanks everyone, Flaps does have to do with an aviation adventure, myself and my pup, who is named flaps. Old news now, but I will share it for fun later on next week. Thanks for all the welcome messages.
1st trip to the Local Train stores tomorrow, tell them my nutty idea for a track layout :) Wish me luck. Flaps

Hello again, well I was right in my instincts on this one. My order from Con Cor has been cancelled, they are out of every single item I choose from there specials page, seems like they dont take very good care of there website. Its not like its easy to order from either, so my efforts to order from them were in vain. The prices would have been really good, but nothing is really available that's on the specials page when it comes to Aero Trains, They did offer me a PA markings one, but they have not verified the pricing, willing to bet its not at the sale price that was offered on there sale page.

Sure glad I did not buy the rest of the stuff for this, which I almost did at my local Hobby Town Store.

Back to the drawing board, Flaps
