    Hi all,

Getting back into the hobby after 20 plus years. My new layout will be two foot perimeter shelf in a 7x11 room. I want a double track oval with a small yard to start with. It will be powered by the Lenz 90 DCC set. I'm modeling modern BNSF and UP operations similar to what I see around Fort Collins, though I'm going to fashion some sort of arrangement with CP because I've alway been a fan of theirs.

I currently have enough 28 radius curve for one oval, what should I use for the second oval (going slightly larger)? The track that I currently have is the EZ track gray. I got this so I could set up a fast oval on the concrete for my kids. Does anyone use this as their primary track? Can you ballast it to look good? Should I dump it in favor of conventional track and roadbed? I must say that I like the ease of use of the EZ.

Thanks for all the help in advance, this is a cool board!

    Hi BNSF-Fort Collins,

    Welcome to TrainBoard.
I think EZ track is good for the oval on the concrete. For your layout I would go with flex track. O.k. it's not so fast laying track. But you can get the radius you want and are not limited to the sharp sectional track radii.
