Hey there Paul.... I've gotten a lot of modeling done, but it's been limited to custom painting and lettering (I'm up to 17 AA boxcars, 6 hoppers, 3 flats and about 1/2 the motive power, with 3 cabooses waiting for custom cupolas). The basement is a couple weeks away from being re-finished with new paint and carpet and ceiling in preparation for the new layout. I will publish a variety of plans next month so folks can see how my ideas progressed. I saw some of your updates to the BCL - very nice, as usual!
Hi all, I have been on TDY for the past month-and-a-half.... Twice. I was in CA for 2 weeks, with a one week break at home before returning for 2 more weeks. Wow. So, I haven't been here to check out everyone's inputs. I saw the post on nixxing the 4x8 idea. I thought about the ATW plan, and concluded to make a layout that runs along one wall, and has balloon ends for a return track. A folded dogbone shape. I have also tallied up my rolling stock and locos.... about 150-200 cars, and 11 locos: 3 Kato, 2 Atlas, 2 LL, 3 Bachmann, and a dead Rivarossi. I had no idea I have invested so much money into my trains, and not all of the cars are cheapo. I have MTL, and bowser, atlas and roundhouse. Maybe I should start saving for snow tires for the rear of my truck... But I want a set of the MDC WFE BNSF reefers, and MT's new releases! *whines* I may start making a plan of a modular layout of a folded dogbone shape... Say tuned! Thanks for all the posts, folks!
