I would curve all the inside corners in your L... other than that... you are "on track..."

As in, curve the inside corners of the backdrop?
That would give a better seamless look to the backdrop, when the trains travel from module to module.
    Thanks!

I mean the curves on the inside area where you walk around for two reasons. The first is visual, you will find it visually more appealling to see curves instead of L shaped corners, two is to remove the one pointed corner in the walk around area because some day you will walk into it.

You will find more contemporary layouts are moving away from rectangular looking affairs, to more curves as they are "softer" to the look, and seem to flow with the track. So imagine your layout as all curves in an L shape, what would it look like?

Rick, this is planned to be operated outside the L, not inside. Only will I be inside to clear a deailment, or do repairs/scenery.

Do you mean to make the outside corners curved, too? I am not sure I want to do that.

#1: This layout is built to be able to be torn down, and reassempled in a new place. The space I have avail at the next house may be different, and I want to have flexibility in the plan. If I have to relay a small section to fit the plan to a smaller basement, that's cool, but using a curved corner frame-module in a place where a straight one is needed would look bad.
Curving the ouside edges would be nice aesthetically, but for flexibility, I like the ability to move modules around to fit the space I have. Curving the backdrops will clean up the look too.
I got the layout frames all built today, and 10 of the 12 have the plywood installed on top.
2 of them now have legs attatched, minus glue. Looks nice to have progress showing!

I have a problem, tho. I built 4 more modules tonite, and ran into a few that had cupped wood, so when I screwed/glued them together, they are warped. As in, the won't sit flush on all 4 corners on the sawhorses. The other ones do. Can I internally diagonally brace it to get it plumb? The plywood didn't plumb it up enough. It is glued, and screwed to the frame. Any ideas anyone?

With your construction question, why not post it in the appropriate scale as more will see it and respond, since it isn't really layout design per say. About the curves, moveability is an important factor and I agree the sectional's will be more adaptable as rectangles.

Even though you have run into some glitches, you are progressing well.
