I model in HO scale, all gauges. No layout, but I do have plans. I have spent most of my time the last year and a half playing around with 3d printing, both using shapways, and I bought an Afina printer for larger items. I have printed several buildings and details. Here are a couple pictures of the items I have printed. some details I designed and printed at shapeways for a lumberyard. More pictures of these can be viewed at these two links: http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2013/07/fsm-barnstead-lumber-ho-scale.html http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2013/01/2013-model-railroad-and-blog-post-goal.html This is a house I designed, printed and assembled for a farm diorama. Welcome to TrainBoard! 3D printing is quite the subject matter in recent months, wondering where the whole concept will eventually take us.
A very hearty welcome! The deisgns you shared are quite impressive. The shop tools are, to me, great examples of the possibilities of the process, and the house model is simply wonderful, as much for the "distressed" finish as for the design itself.
I'm still scratchin my head trying to figure out the how and what 3-D printing is. I can plainly see it produces wonderful results, but just don't get it! I guess I'm simply too old to grasp the idea of new-fangled ideas. Anyway ... welcome to Trainboard.
Hi nvrr49, Welcome to the Train Board, glad to have you on board. The results that you have shown us are very nice, thanks for sharing.
