Hello all, I am TJ. I am 28 years old and have 4 kids(all girls ) I have been a model railroader and interested in trains since I was 3 years old. Right now I just started switching to N scale after 10 years of Maine 2 foot gauge modeling in On2 and On2 1/2. I am keeping all of my O scale equipment with a eye towards a future layout, but for now I am going to take a break and model the BNSF for a bit with my kids. All of them are nuts about trains so I have it pretty good lol. I am going to be moving in the near future to Seattle Washington, so I have decided to start by building some portable Freemo style modules to later incorporate into a larger home layout. I have a 30x30 shop right now so I have plenty of space to use for my ideas. And when the move comes it should be fairly simple to pack and move the modules because I plan on using lauan plywood, and foam for construction. I am also looking towards letting my older children operating the layout with me as I will be using DCC and sound to make it more interesting for them to run. well that is about it for now I guess.

Welcome aboard, TJ. And welcome N-scaler. :) I've got 4 kids as well (3 boys and a girl... guess who runs the place). I think you'll find a lot of good information and great help here. :)

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

Modules are a great idea, with a move forthcoming. You'll find the Seattle area is loaded with N scalers.

Interesting that you are changing from On30 to N. I am a long time N person, but have been dabbling a little more with On30 as these recent years have passed.

Depending on when you move, you might want to attend the national N-scale convention (with your girls) in Medford, OR, this coming June!
