Have been lurking here for awhile. Just coming to say hi. Hoping to build my layout sometime next year. Since all this craziness I've been even more busy with work. Good to see another Chicagoland modeler here. You've got some prime railfan real estate there in Joliet, and based on your name, I would assume your layout is HO too. Any locale or era, or just freelancing?
Yes HO. Everyone around me always model it. Also, just big enough to see. Small enough for my basement area. Just freelancing until I get some more room from CFO. Then possibly would like to try The Flying "J". But grew up in Berwyn, so BN or ILC would be cool too. Always had a fancy for my own though so...the space I have will work for now. Daniel
Hi Daniel, welcome. Though I don't model it, I'm an EJ&E fan. Lived along its western sub in the '60s and '70s.

Daniel, You have come to the best place for questions. I have never seen a question go unanswered. If you feel like a day trip, I am part of a model railroad club in Chadwick IL just west of you along the BNSF main line. You can google YouTube to see videos of our layout.
Have about 80% of what I need. Will be going DCC but as of now I have two DC engines to run. They're both DCC ready just haven't gotten around to getting the decoders. Have a small test run that I use when I need a fix.
