CSX has begun receiving some of the 2006 crop of new locomotives. ES44DC's from General Electric numbered in the 5300 series....5300-5311 have been received to date.
Wow! I had better get trackside. Any idea how many are on order? I wonder if they will be delivered painted or in primer? Harold

A quick Google search reveals: Railinc maintains the Universal Machine Language Equipment Register (Umler) rail equipment information database. Umler contains the physical characteristics, transportation management and pool assignments of every piece of rail equipment in North America. That's over 2 million pieces of rail equipment - rail cars, trailers, containers, chassis, locomotives and end-of-train devices - and all with less than 1% error. This information is used in distributing equipment, planning routes, determining power requirements, reporting air brake testing and in Automatic Equipment Identification management (AEI).
