Location, Location, Location While the above is the mantra for retail businesses - when it comes to manufacturers, big and small, you have to use the facilities available where you are, and where they are is geographical and they have to 'make do' with the geography they own or can purchase with their capital or profits. Needless to say, the more successful a manufacturer becomes the more product they will be expected to create and deliver with the potential to outgrow their existing facilities and look for locations to expand to. Toward the end of the video I note the tow boats on the 'marine railway' that is on the river bank - is that a repair facility or is it a scraping facility. I suspect the steel used in vessel construction is of a higher quality than the 'run of the mill' steel and would bring higher prices in the scrap trade.
I might guess that towboat facility is a variation of a drydock. I have never seen one designed to lift sideways, but have seen some which pulled out bow first.
