Around the time of WW2 SP ordered new 4-8-4's in the GS-6 class. The War Production Board allocated 6 loco's from SP's order to WP. SP also painted some of its GS-4's in black. Con-Cor is announcing production of the black SP GS-4 as well as the WP GS-6 in N scale for planned delivery by the end of the year.
