Perhaps the mfr's could be asked to also post their announcements to TB. I don't know if you would prefer a new section for new announcements? This could end up helping the mfr's get the official word about new products out. It could also make discussion of an item easier.

My favorite aspect of Trainboard is that we seem to do just fine without more rules...

Why would any one here even care what the atlas site does? The site is ugly slow and to many rules. Being on that board feels like being in grade school: infighting bickering bullying bad mouthing. This is why I no longer go there but hang out here on this fantastic site!

    Guys,

We don't want to bash the Atlas site here.

We want to have a good relationship, when possible, with all of the other forums.

The Atlas forum has a reputation for being big and the bigger you get, the more problems, disagreements, etc., that you will have.

Those guys are trying to do what's best for them and that's what we are trying to do here too.

I don't want people to make negative comments about TrainBoard on other forums, so we shouldn't do it here.

    "What goes around comes around."

That in and of itself is the reason to never say negative things about anyone or any place. A pebble cast into a pond generates ripples. Who knows what shore they land upon or how they will arrive.

Bashing other online boards should wait for the institution of a Trainboard "Negativity and Name-calling" forum. We could name it after the Troublesome Trucks from the Thomas the Tank Engine series.

Did you find the above in a fortune cookie in Cambridge?

    Words of Caution...

Disregarding completely my opinions on the Atlas board...

...I can see this getting way out of hand. It happens on TrainBoard, too, guys! Need I mention Dan Crowley? :embarassed:

    Every forum has its vices...

    To paraphrase a certain gentleman:
One gives a little helpful metaphore and is met with abuse from by a LLL lawer.

Its all how you say it.

I have seen stuff get locked around here pretty quick too .. all the forums do it .. otherwise things get out of hand really quick ..
