The Club Car had a thread going about keeping folks from copy images from web sites. One of the messages suggested a java applet that would display photos one at a time or in a slide show format. Now the thread is gone. Anyone know what/where the applet is? ------------------ Scott Jay member of: Half Nuts Model Railroaders

Thanks, those are great scripts, but I was looking for an applet that would would allow me to present several images in a slide show format, automatically. ------------------ Scott Jay member of: Half Nuts Model Railroaders

I said it before I'll say it again.. its on the net.. ya cant stop them from taking the images. Watermarks are about the best thing, they get the image but have a nasty wm on the pic. I used the "stop copying images applet" to my sons page http://bird.users.fl.net.au/Cameron/ (yes the images need cropping to fit, bit zoom in and out then you will see them) you cant right click save etc.. but 1) the images are in your cache 2) read the code and hop up and down on one foot with one eye winking and you see the images are pulled from a *.toc file. 3) there in this *.toc file is the URL of every image that is on the page. 4) they paste in the URL and then they have free range to do what ever they want with the images.. simple rule. you dont want it used elsewhere, dont put it up. ------------------ CK& Bird Butt Railroad - Its a coal mining region of a place far far away, that shares rails with SP, NS... It's not about keeping folks from stealing images, it's about another way to display images. ------------------ Scott Jay member of: Half Nuts Model Railroaders

I guess it's that 1% that becomes a problem. I like the dicing idea. Not foolproof but it strongly discourages the average user from saving your image. The Java Applet you mentioned, which displays in slide show format, can be found at Web site below. Free Zip download. I use it on my Web site with little problem. You will need newer versions of browsers and Java enabled on them. http://www.obs-us.com/people/mihai/imgview.html ..Eddie ------------------ Eddie Delozier PRR N-scale www.deloziers.com eddelozier@yahoo.com
