Working on a dozen of these NP 36' Fishbelly Sidesill Radial Roof Wood Boxcars today. Got bored of DCC for the day, and needed something else to do, day 1 of my 10 day vacation. These cars will go with my NP S10 Class 10 Wheeler. These are modernized with AB brakes and Bettendorf trucks. Doors and end hatch slide open. I still need to form a bunch of grab irons for them, 30 per car, so I need 360 individually formed grab irons. That aught to take me a while huh?
Robert, Very nice! The end hatch opens too? Have fun with the grab irons. Sounds like youve got a couple of minutes worth of work there. Enjoy the vacation. Dan S.
Looks great as usual Robert. Enjoy your vacation. Did they shut down for maintenance over the upcoming holiday or something like that? ;-) Randy
Thanks for the kind words everyone. We had another layoff last week, and now there are only 2 guys on my shift, building 4 machines. I have almost 160 hours of vacation time saved up, and for the past 5 weeks they have been promising a weekend off. Well 3 days before the layoff I put in for vacation, and all the other guys were supposed to work, they we lost 2 guys, and it was too late to cancel on me, so the last guy is carrying the whole load this week! I guess that means I get to work Christmas week! When I go back, you can rest assured they will extract days, nights, and weekends out of me until my debt to the production schedule is paid in full. Beats starvation though! Now what am I going to work on tomorrow?
WOW, those are beautiful. I would gladly take one off your hands if you don't have enough time to build them all...
Just checked these out, they look good Robert! GHQ was going to release decorated resin NP round roof cars in N scale. I reserved one about 2 years ago...
