The North Coast Rail Authority has issued the call for the following repair work on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad: 1. Repairs to the revetments alongside the NWP tracks in Eureka between MP 279.37 to MP 280.0 (3,100 feet). Additionally, from MP 279.37 and MP 279.5 (500 feet), the track will be relocated 8 feet east of the existing trackway. This section of track is currently hanging in the air and will need to be filled with sand and gravel. Bids were due on 9/7/2007, and work most be completed within 26 weeks of bid award. 2. Repairs to 43 Timber Bridge structures between Lombard and Windsor. Bids are due on 9/24, and work must be completed within 23 weeks after the contract is awarded. 3. Rehabilitate the existing track between Lombard and Windsor (36 miles). This work will include track construction, tie replacement and surfacing, ballast restration, switch repair, bank and ditch improvement, grade crossing repairs and other miscellaneous work as required to bring this line up to freight train standards. Bids are due on 10/1/2007, and work must be completed in 30 weeks after this contract is awarded.
