    This is great! While reading through the manual in search of a description for the brake button, I stumbled across the steps to show the amp meter.
    Just press:
    prog --> 6 --> enter --> 1(for current) --> esc

    Then the current draw is shown in place of the fast clock. Only drawback is it has to be done everytime you turn it off. This setting is not stored.

    I was running both dash9's at about 50% throttle, all other loco lights on (4 total) and the current draw was right around .25-.30
    Not too bad. Very handy option!

    I can't handle more than 2 on my small layout. I tried getting 3 going, but I still ran into a little trouble keeping up with them :D
    I did manage to have my 2 dash9's chasing each other on the outer main and got my E8 running on the inside and I had a reading around .35-.45A

    well, good enough.
    I had tested my current draw by using a DMM and DC pack with 8 locos. I was drawing about 1.3 amps total with 8 locos and they still had light bulbs as opposed to LEDS (LEDs draw much less power)
    With a peak 2 amps, you should be able to run 8-10 locos @ 1.5 amps total.
    I guess NCE rating of 4 N scale locos is worst case senerio with a huge safety margin so people with bad motors & long trains don't whine if they can't do 6, 8 or 10 loco with the PowerCab.
