    So I'm still torn between N or On30. I'm leaning towards On30 because that gives me a reason to keep my HO equipment that I'm not having luck selling. I developed a plan for my space in N scale pretty easily, but I'm having a harder time working on an On30 plan for the same space. I would like to have an eastern coal hauler (like East Broad Top), but with the limited space, I may be better off with a logging operation w/ switchbacks (Load at the top, mill at the bottom.) I've heard of mining oeprations like this, but that would be rare if not unheard of for an eastern coal hauler.... (Then again.... it's mine, so who cares?)

    Several of you already know I have a small space to work in that caused the demise of my HO scale layout. On30 is going the other way from making more room for operating however, it seems like it would fit in small spaces better (20' cars, Climax's, Heisler's, Shay's, 0-4-0T's, etc.). The idea of scratchbuilding with wood is also appealing.

    Anyhow, the wish list:
    * Yard (even if it is just a passing siding)
    * Min. Radius: 18"
    * Max Grade: 12%
    * Single Level Benchwork
    * Switchback
    * Coal primary product, can settle with Logging operations.

    There is also HOn30..... Less R-T-R stuff, but a lot more can fit the same area.
