I know alot about the N&W in the East but I hardly know anything about it in the Midwest especially after the NKP and WAB mergers. What were operations and locomotives used, and also what was the passenger service like and what happed to the NKP and WAB passenger equipment, was it used soley in the Midwest or were they used all over the system? Another thing, I recently learned of the N&W's commuter trains in Chicago so does anyone have any info on these intersting subject? Any info is welcome!
I've always been curious about operations west of the Mississippi River. It seemed so far, far away from the east coast and coal, etc. I wonder if there is some information on the 'Net?
