I am trying to do research about N&W's col operations in WV. More specifically in the area known as Coalwood, or Big Creek. Does anyone know what division this was attached to? The line was abandoned in 1959 and I cant find much information on it. Can someone point me in the direction of some information. I have tried NWHS.org and can't find any operations around their. Am I looking in the wrong place or not looking for the right thing. Thanks
Surely you found this: Coalwood, West Virginia Web Site And this: National Coal Heritage Area/ Coal Heritage Trail Coalwood was on the Clear Fork Branch of the N&W. Mark
I found the first website but I guess I must have missed the branch that it was on. I didn't find the second website though. thanks alot!
If you have more questions ask away - I don't know it all but I have some info. I have lots of books on N&W and WV is the area I love on the N&W. Mark
Thanks for the help. The Norfolk and Western is an interesting and amazing railroad. I'm in college so I have limited access to the N&W archives and limited funds to buy nooks on the N&W. It was an interesting and powerful railroad with a lot of history in its roots. Thanks again.
