Wow Mike! What is that? It really looks good. Is it scratch built? Maybe I'm missing something because I haven't seen anything like that before. Oh never mind I just went back through the thread and found your previous post.:tb-embarrassed:
I am finally getting back to my two GHQ depressed center flat cars as I dig my workbench out from under projects. Brass details being added here.
Nice cars Flash and Diez, I love those. Here was todays progress on the T. Leary Chemical Factory. It is almost ready for the layout !! Mike
Mike: It's a great structure and a nice job here. I, too, got lost trying to find the original post. It is number 1480 in this thread and is quoted above. Flash Blackman
Thanks Flash and Kursplat we would never and have never evern endanger the citizens of this fair layout!!!!!! Mike :tb-wink:
Wow, it's been awhile since I last posted due to my deployment to Saudi last summer. I'm finally back to normal ops (for now anyway...) and a few guys I did work for regularly sent me stuff almost immediately. Here's what's on my bench currently: Brian
Thanks Mike and VIA. I love hard working Alco's. Brian, glad your back and painting. Feel free to post any weekend updates in our weekend progress reports in the Inspection Pit every Friday and Monday. Just about finished with this former E/L GP35. This is a clean locomotive and the patches were done with E/L Maroon, all per the prototype. Still a rust stain has developed on the nose near the cab and the battery box hinges look mighty nasty. I also started work on a friends flat car project. Both cars are the same, the one in front however has had the deck distressed, painted and weathered. I'll remove the trucks and paint and weather them and airbrush the car body to add some dust, dirt and grime.
With outfit cars #1 and #2 reassembled and basically ready for details, I devoted this past week's hobby time to building the replacement sides for car #3: The BCR removed the left side door and plated in the opening, and added two windows each side - with rubber gaskets (grrr). There is some more door hardware to be installed (door tracks, rods, stops, etc.) but I will do that after reassembling the car. Tim
Awesome work on the kitbash! Now you know that means FVM will deliver theirs ahead of schedule and in time for Christmas because you're that close to being finished... Brian
