More Brass Platforms You guys never cease to amaze me. Those are some great looking projects underway I'm still working on the Plastruct Refinery. Using brass to scratchbuild platforms where possible and modifieing their valves to try and make them look a little more realistic. Ready for painting, assembly, then putting them in the refinery and piping them into the Walther's Refinery piping rack. I use hope this extra work is going to be worth it. NCDaveD.
I made some more progress on the heisler. Still gotta get some micro Surface LEDs for the lights, cab grabs, end grabs, and of course paint. Still need to get my hands on some grease, although I did some tweaking and got it to work a little smoother now. I also rebuilt the Universal to the front truck. It don't actually power the front truck, but it does spin, and it is a actual functioning Universal. One thing I hate about taking pictures of my work, I see all kinds of spots I should probally smoothen out. Stupid liquid Super glue. I can't find actuall CA here. grrrr....
I had some spaetzle in Munchen that would have done the trick With all the high-quality modeling going on in Germany, I'm surprised you can't find any. The Heisler is coming along lovely, though! Much can it pull?
Finally finished the bulkhead flats with dullcoat and laods. The tie loads are held in with water soluble glue incase I ever want to remove them.
Thanks! Actually, with only the rear truck powered, it is kinda weak. but still usable. Reasonable load on flat and level is is about 5 logging cars. 4 Micro-trains, 1 scratchbuilt. Although, I have had all 10 of my logging cars behind it, and it will pull them on the flat and level, just takes a soft throttle hand to keep the wheels from spinning. It has one traction tire right now, I hand cut a slot for it. I am debaiting on doing another one. or finally buying some bullfrog snot.
Hello Bill, my worst fear is confirmed, 1 inch decal stripes :-( But they look great! I thought that I might get by without the black stripe on a couple of passenger cars I want to paint, but I guess I need to bite the bullit... Many thanks for answering my question! Cheers Dirk
I saw this at the staion in Harrisburg, Pa. It's a N6B offset cupola caboose. Some N6B's were center cupola's. Thought it would be an interesting model. I scratched the cupola and used a Model Power caboose body. I shortened the body and the plugged and sanded it smooth. Cut and framed new windows and scribbed the body. I moved the cupola slightly forward. I'm really pleased at the result.....................
Recently completed this project, a center cupola Nationale of Mexico old wood outside braced caboose.............
Very cool! Is that totally scratched? I'd love to see a "How To" on this one, or at least as much detail as you can give. Thanks for sharing!
Finally got all the bells and whistles (pun intended since it is sound equipped) on one of my Broadway Limited Burlington E8's. All those nose grabs are a pain. Also cut away the fuel tank skirting and much more. Wonder how long it will take me to get around to doing the same to the trailing unit in the photo?
atlas N scale roundhouse I plan on adding interior details to Life like country cottage (came with the little joe train set) life like village church (came with the little joe train set) Finding a tender for a kato 2-8-2 that I got from my GFs dad (which should be a chore, cause the one from KATO is discontinued). Any sugeestions for the kato engine, PM me (so not to hijack this thread)
Here is the other side of the model, only seen when it is off of its base. This whole area will be filled to nearly railtop with scenery or ballast.
