BEAUTIFUL! I'm slowly working on my 3 (already figured I'm going to 'need' another one...lol)...I just received a couple of Gold Medal Models 'assorted grabs' in the post (160-56)...now, it's either a happy coincidence, or Bill's foresight, but all of the handrails and roof ladder and hand grabs are on this fret! (saves some work for those who don't care to bend wire!)...the underside ladders and steps are available on Gold Medal Models 160-26.... VERY NICE! ~Bruce
Hello all... finding a little time to get these into gear... after posting a question here about wire (I need to find a good source and the folks here have been tremendous with their sources.), I discovered that almost all of the hand and rail grabs I need for these are available on the Gold Medal Models fret 160-56...the steps are available on their 160-28. all of the grab locations are dimpled on Bill's castings and most are even drilled through...just a quick twist of the #80 chucked twist drill and they're ready for the grabs. I use Gorilla brand super glue, applied from inside the shell, then 'fixed' with a drop of accelerator. The lift rings were borrowed from one of Roberto Martari's beautiful photoetched sheets (they'll be replaced with some GE-style lift rings from BLMA) I'd like to have all three cars ready for paint by Sunday evening, but we'll see...lot's of yardwork and garage cleaning on the slate for this weekend! Another project in the works is this little climax. After drooling over Mr.Randys, I had to have one. This is a junk box creation, not really prototypical, as the wheel base is short.It is built on a kato chassis, every thing is kato even the jackshaft assy. It took two chassis to build this, but its all drilled and tapped, assembled with screws so repair is possible if need be. Now if only I could get some of Randys awesome side frames........

I madw a concerted effort to find a system!...because I work on several different 'workbench' projects concurrently, I wanted to keep all the projects 'at hand', but available...these organizers are part of a system sold at Michaels specifically for scrapbookers...I have a whole wall designed for my space, including a rolling cart with pull out drawers for paint, aolvent, and adhesive storage...the cart fits under a side of the Kingman canyon layout and will be hidden once the skirt is attached-so is the rolling airbrush station. this is a shot of my wall-hate the wires below the desk but I'll figure something out
