Brian, I'm using a Mark 4 Design cab, he has a couple of different versions. The one on the left is an Altas SD26 cab and a resin nose I cast.
Thanks, didn't know Mark was doing those. He's checking on some SD38-2 long hoods for me, so I'll ask him about the GP10 cabs. Brian
Scored an Alan Curtis 53' spine car kit off ebay a couple months back. Almost ready to begin painting
Brian K, those M4D SD38-2 hoods are nice pieces !!! I've 3 for the E,J&E, and 2 for BN. (Air filter boxes are different !!!) Can't wait to use 'em, once the airbrush is done training me !!! OH !!! I almost forgot !!! FLY NAVY !!!
Worked on the last surviving Bmann 4-4-0 today and the result was not pretty. It completely failed in any attempt from new driveshaft to changing out to a better tender running gear to even come up to halfway to the standard set by Atlas. Therefore it had the cab boarded up, stack covered, headlight covered and is ready to push on the weed overgrown track to await higher prices on scrap metal. Styrene boards a light coat of gray paint then a light coat of rust paint, and when dry weathering powders using rust, dust, and black grime.
Mass production F7 detailing started today.... Decaling to replicate the car body openings before adding the FARR grills from Plano...much better to do all these as a group. The F3's will get the treatment next weekend; their car body openings are a little bit different, so I'll have to create new decal film templates. Thanks for looking, ~Bruce
While sorting, repairing, and inventorying my rolling stock I realized that I did not have any appreciable passenger equipment for my early modeling era of the 1900s. Since I basically model three eras now I needed something to go behind those older era 4-4-0s, 2-6-0s and 2-8-0s when I decide to run that era. So a mixture of Bmann and MDC/Roundhouse cars are being assembled. The two in the front are Bmann Duckbills that have been bashed into a full baggage and the left over parts into another coach.
Agreed. I did a pair of straight SD38's for Conrail last year. Just be careful cleaning them up, they can be a little fragile... Brian
Finished a few more projects this morning. Microscale released the Heritage scheme decals, so I had to paint a few. The Trinity Hoppers are not exact matches, but has to do without getting into modifications. This is the first of three I'm doing. Also finished another CEFX SD40-2. Brian
Thanks, this is the result of my entire family being passed in bed by 9:30 pm every night. I usually can get about 3 hours uninterrupted work because I'm a night owl... Brian
I have already built this car in HO a couple of time so I decided to try it in N scale. The Kato UP COLA dome observation is the perfect starting place.
NIIIICE! Love those colors. I need to invest in a good airbrush! I have about 20 Kato, MTL and Intermountain cars ready for paint... so a 1947 heavy/lightweight mix NCL and a ~1960 dome NCL are in the works!
