N Scale T-Trak

Anyone interested in T-Trak? I have created a TrainBoard Group dedicated to T-Trak. I have been modeling in N Scale for 35yrs but got involved with T-Trak about a year ago. It is a great venue for sharing interests and get togethers for presenting some awesome layouts. I live near Dallas TX and have a second home in Blairstown NJ. Looking to promote T-Trak enthusiasm and to network with other N Scale Enthusiasts. I am open to communicate and befriend TrainBoard members.

I am interested in T-Trak. I have joined your group here on TB. Also, you may be interested to see what the guys in Australia are doing with it in this thread.

Paul has this bit in his blog, too.

I am looking at T-Trak as an easier way to get a layout to a show than having to lug over-built N-Trak modules from place to place.

Here's a couple of shots of our club's display at the train show at the Ipswich Workshops Rail Museum last weekend. We got started in T-TRAK a year ago at a train show when we were still setting up our Ntrak modules after everyone else had gone home and thought there has to be an easier way.

In a weeks time we are having our annual state T-TRAK meet at the All Gauge Model Railway Club, last year we had over 50 modules in the layout.

Many of my clubmates have some sort of physical restriction on how much they can lift or how much they can climb around under modules hooking them up. Set-up is a major undertaking, and then there's the problem of getting the modules to and from the shows. We have an old trailer but it needs serious work or some serious thought of replacement, and most members do not have a vehicle that could tow it anyway.

I have been thinking of T-Trak as a way that people could much more easily get their own modules to a show.

 

Hmm, I'm interested. My main reason is I am about to extend the GandG around the room. It will be about 1' deep. Maybe I can build it in Ttrak module format.

Is there an official site with the standards or a FAQ or a ?

 

Thanks Boxcab. I know I could have googled it but I wanted to be sure and to make it easier for others to find.

It is not bookmarked and maybe I'll do the official size and then bolt it in place on my expansion which will have an extra 3"s (plus or minus).

Um, question, a friend of mine who reads more carefully ask me: "How much do modules cost?".
Um, can I make my own or do I have to purchase them?

 

You can make your own.

 

My first module was ready made from a local supplier at a train show to try the T-TRAK concept, a couple of days after I got it home I had it finished. (see photo) Since then we've been building our own, it's not that hard they are just wooden boxes, the only thing whether you build them yourself or get them made is that the length has to be accurate.

 

There are module kits available in several countries. When showing T-TRAK at exhibitions, which always generates a lot of interest, I usually recommend kits for absolute beginners. But after you've done the first couple, or you are already an experienced modeller, it's easy to see how they are assembled and how you can make your own.

I'm making some non-authentic T-Trak modules for me to play around at home with..
