For those of you who are still lamenting the pullout of Sunrise Enterprises from the N-scale detail market, and are looking for a suitable replacement, to fill the hole in your modeling life; I bring you tidings of great joy! :teeth: Whilst looking for items to to make my home road locomotives more realistic, I happened upon a web-link which will make my efforts that much easier. If you have been there and have placed one or more orders, then you are aware of what's available, and should know; I am not posting for your sake. If you have not heard of this manufacturer, or have been to his site, but have been reluctant to purchase; then please hear me out.

The place I refer to is: Miniatures by Eric

It is true, his details tend to lean heavy on the Canadian side of the hobby; but he is located in Busby, Alberta. So please cut him some slack! Anyhow, he does make quite a few detail parts for those of us, south of the border. He also has some Canadian-specific details with applications for detailing US locomotives.

Now if you've been to his website, you might find the attached pictures a little lacking is size and detail. If you've not placed an order, for fear the quality is just not up to par; fear no more! The Miniatures by Eric details are cast is plastic, and are very finely detailed; unlike the cast metal blobs hoisted on the N-scale market by Detail Associates. And what's more, Eric's prices are very reasonable; even with the shipping to get it from Canada.

I must note; thanks to our paranoid security measures, put in place after 9/11, it took me about a week-and-a half to get an order from Alberta to Salem, Oregon. Believe you me, the wait is well worth it! If you're looking for that NP F-Unit plow, he has it. If you are in need of GP-9 winterization hatches, they are in stock. If you are seeking a Union Pacific style plow, now that Sunrise has left the building, look no further, for he makes those as well.

In short, Miniatures by Eric has finely cast details, at reasonable prices, and a wide selection. Oh, and his communication skill are up quite good. What do you have to loose? G'wan, give him a try!
