    Hello:

We are currently running an ad in the N Scale trainstore. This is a part of a collection we recently purchased but cannot use. The cars and locomotives either do not fit our timeframe or are doubles and triples of cars we already own. With 1200+ cars already on the layout these items have to go or my wife informs me I’ll be up for auction next week with a real low starting bid.

All of the cars are in working order and we have checked all wheels and couplers. Since these cars for the most part date back to the 1970’s they come with rapido type couplers. All of the heavy duty flats and a few other were upgraded to Kadees and most wheels are Micro Trains. Some cars are still equipped with their original metal wheels. The person we bought the collection from did not have the boxes for many of the cars as they were scattered to the winds over the past 30+ years.

The engines include two very rare early Kato U-50-Cs. These were custom painted into the PRR (favorite road of the gentleman we bought everything from). At a recent collector auction one of these (in UP paint) sold for $200. There are early steamers as well with the real beauty the 2-8-2 Concor/Rivarossi PRR engine from the early 70’s in its original box with a list price back then of $159.95!

The prices we have listed are what we would like to receive for each item but we will work with someone who makes a reasonable offer. Right now we are also debating whether to sell the layout that came with the collection. It is 18’ by 8’ and comes complete with all the tracks, wiring, and about 50 structures. We have not made our minds up on this yet because it would also be pick up only here in Philadelphia. No way I can imagine shipping this if we do offer it.

Also, we wanted to remind you that we are donating 10% of all proceeds from the auction to trainboard. That is why we set the prices where we did hoping to raise some cash right here. If you have any questions or want to try a number out on us fell free to either PM or contact us at tcpg1 “at” aol.com. I use the “at” to confuse spam bots who will grab email addresses for nefarious purposes. Thanks for reading and supporting trainboard.
