Thank you! Here's a D&RGW train #100, a hot eastbound piggyback and mixed freight off the Southern Pacific from Oakland astutely observes the 25 MPH downgrade speed limit as it passes West Crescent; when it reaches North Yard, it will be promptly forwarded to Chicago via Burlington Northern. High greens at the West Crescent eastbound mainline signal: #100's head end eases downgrade out of Tunnel 19: #100 eases thru the plant at West Crescent: You can see telegraph poles and the signage for MP 32 and Tunnel 19:
Those signals look great Hemi! I've played an electrical engineer before and easily get sucked into the electronics. I'm currently building 3 more signal bridges for my Graham and Lucas control points (I'll update my progress in my Ottumwa Sub thread soon). I use 40 AWG magnet wire to run to my LEDs and have had the same frustrations with the coating. Lately I've taken to sanding them with some fine (200 grit) sand paper and that seems to work ok. I slowly pull the wire across the sand paper with my finger pressing the wire into the sandpaper. I'm not sure if I like the knife blade or sand paper method better. The BN Ottumwa Sub is ready to take your East bounds the rest of the way to Chicago. John
Blinky-blinky! Coming soon (eventually)! Showcase Miniatures kits, with 0402 LEDs. The signage is cut from paper, there are no decals for the white signs, although there are etched stainless signs, I just can't paint them and highlight the lettering in relief without making a mess.
Thanks everyone! I installed the crossing signals at Gross Dam Rd. These were rewarding kits to assemble. The instructions indicated to run the LED leads outside the mast, but I knew they would fit inside the tube, so I went the extra 3 miles to run them inside the mast for a clean look. It was more frustrating than I remembered when I did the searchlight signals with as many leads, but it worked out eventually. As per prototype photos, there are rail guardrails as well.
