Atlas will soon release a new run of their N Scale Alco RS-3. They do not propose a DCC version of this model, in the contrary of most of their recent models. Does any one have an idea whether this new RS-3 will be "DCC friendly" with possibility to use a drop-in decoder from Digitrax, NCE or others ? Or will it require to use a hardwired decoder ? I've preordered one, and I'd like to know what decoder I have to buy.
I believe that there is no drop-in decoder available, but I am told that the TCS CN decoder is a possibility. I don't actually know. This is the same frame, I understand, as the previous Atlas RS-3's, so it may not have changed at all.
