Most all of the GP-9 picture's were taken in Walla Walla, WA in the mid to late 70's. The picture of engine 4184 was taken in Pasco around this same time, as well as the engine that landed in the pit, on its way to the engine house. Engine 830 was also taken during this same time period in Pasco. Engine 99 was taken in Salem, OR in the early 80's. I left Salem in 85. The other pictures I just like. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php/ppuser/5828/cat/500
I went to college there, and not really sure how much present BN has there now. I haven't visited the town since 1985. Steve
Great shots!! I have a bunch of Pasco stuff I bought from E. Alexander's family after he died. They are all posted over at the fallen flags website. They go nicely with these.
Dan, Since I'm new here on this board, I still at times have my challenges about moving around and finding things. I just can't seem to locate your pictures. Can you please give me a link. Thanks Steve
Sure thing: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bn/bn.html Most are scattered throughout the BN listings. There are others in other railroad sections, but most are BN.
Boy,I bet the hostler that did that number just walked away and went straight to Burger King to flip burgers!! :embarassed:
Nice shots, Steve, particularly those of the RS11. Not many of BN's ALCo's have been posted on the 'net. Looks like it was being manoeuvred into position for the turntable but was pushed too far. Note the exhaust stack has been capped. This unit was dead and probably in storage or being readied for disposition (it was retired in June 1982).
