Hoping to get ideas, resources, and new friends in Nscale. We are building on our house and I will have by years end a 16x30 basement to build a double deck layout. Been collecting for 30 years....had a door size layout so this is going to be a leap of faith. I am using a DCC digitrax system with Kato track. so what do you do with your time when you don't have a layout?? Been converting older Kato units to DCC, building and weathering.
    any and all ideas welcomed.

Hello and welcome, Will. That's a lot of space to fill with a N-scale pike. Keep us up to date with your progress with photos as you go along. :)

Sounds as though you plan on staying there for a while. If not, consider modular construction.

Do you have an era in mind? A prototype company you want to model? A geographic area?

    What part of Kentucky?

With a 16x30 basement you have lots of room for a really nice design.

There's plenty to do while constructing the pike... planning, railfanning, design, building structures, maybe some modular stuff to test out scenery techniques, etc... weathering cars and locos, installing decoders...

Hi Will, Welcome, glad to have you onboard. Building a basement under your new deck is a great idea.

BTW, I like your avatar, looks like a get-serious Bourbon still. Though I hope it's larger than N-Scale. ;)

Welcome aboard, Will. As Bill said, that sounds like a lot of space to work with. Please keep us posted as you progress with your layout.
