Well guys I havent had time to work on the layout this past two weeks because we had an Open House at our model railroad club this weekend.I did however get some more rolling stock weathered and took them to the layout to get some photos.So here we go... The first is just a string of cars waiting to be sorted and also kinda shows the waterway in between the tracks that allows water runoff from the surrounding buildings. This next photo shows a weathered Railbox unloading some 55 gallon drums. Here we see the N&E crossing Chestnut Street.
The two pieces of rolling stock in the above photo are new to the layout.They have been patched with Caney Fork & Western (CFWR) and also had graffiti added.I also weathered them and added Kadee #5's. All for now...
Looking good, Thomas! I love what I've seen of your layout! The new cars look nice. Glad there wasn't that much graffiti in the era I model! I don't think I have that kind of talent!
He Guys I am back.I havent worked on the layout in a long time because of other commitments and personal problems but I finally got back to the "man cave" and dusted everything off and killed all the spiders with my shop-vac. I went to a train show this weekend in Nashville and found exactly what I was looking for.I have a beer distribution industry which the Nashville and Eastern services so looking around I found a Miller Engineering Budweiser sign that lights up.I got it installed tonight and managed to get a photo. Also took a photo of the N&E shoving a boxcar into a siding. Hopefully I can keep getting down there and get some work done and get some more progress photos.All for now.
Its funny you should ask, I actually got down there tonight and dusted everything off. I do have a few updates I will try and get up this week of some boxcars I have weathered and two more industries started.Will post soon and thanks for the kind words.
Unfortunately the N&E was dismantled because I just wasnt happy with the direction it was going so I asked a friend for some help.We cleaned out the "Man Cave" and started from scratch.He came up with a track plan that I am happy with now and I have since got the benchwork done, the foam glued down, and the backdrops painted.I hope to upload pictures and a track plan soon but in the meantime feel free to check out my blog http://trainsandtwisters.blogspot.com/ that I hope to keep up to date as much as possible.I am the worst procrastinator (it took me awhile to figure that out).More updates soon...
