I model the MKT as if the UP merger never came about. The Katy bought the CM&W(Gateway
Western) for a new St.Louis route from KC.and trackage rights to Chicago.Conrail was
bought from the US goverment and merged into the Katy.So now running big SD's as well as
big GE's.Haven't painted any GE's yet still
in CR paint but did SD-60's and will do some
SD50's soon. The number series for all exCR units will remain the same after repainted.
The Katy also bought SD60's and numbered them in the GP7 series numbers and renumbered the GP7's in the switcher number series. So thats a little bit on my Katy.

That's how the Frisco works around here. Are you running any passenger service?

    Charlie,
I model the Frisco in its last five years, but now & then I've thought of what a brace of GP60s, B40-8Ws, or even AC power in Mandarin red & white would look like.......

My hat is off to everyone who models in this way. I think that you must be very creative to be able to project what a railroad would look like if it had never merged. I have thought of doing this a few times with some Colorado railroads, like the Colorado and Midland. I have seen some very believable railroads modeled in this way. SOunds fun!! Happy Modeling!

Amen brother! In that regard I say do whatever feels good. My layout isn't going where I live now but when I get it back up the Frisco will take over the bnsf and repaint all of their equipment into mandarin and white, and black and yellow. [IMG]
