    Post your lucky catch...

In my case..it was a very recently re-painted SP SD40 from scarlet and gray to SP's Red White and Blue...for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic games. My understanding...it was quickly repainted back the following month I took this shot in June of 1984....and unfortunately destroyed in a head-on collision...in September of 1985 on the BN.

    WOW! It's clean!

    Amazing, a clean Espee unit. :eek:mg: :eek:mg:

I guess coming right out of the paintshop is the only time they're clean, though this one might've gotten a little special treatment. :teeth:

    Nice photo!

I wonder why they'd have repainted it so quickly? Would seem like an interesting PR tool.

In the entire state of Montana, only 3 of these exist that run (4 on the roster, tho), and I caughtone, in good light at Helena's depot, on a Grain train about to assault Mullan Pass with the assistance of a set of MRL's new ACez:

Not a really impressive picture(I was kind of rushed as I remember), but I was happy to catch this 'lost' BNSF loco on the RF&P/CSX main line here in Lorton, Virginia:

An UNpatched, unmolested D&RGW GP40-2, in Greeley, CO a couple years ago. She now wears a UP number.... Saw it on the way back from a trip to Don's Hobbies in the same town, and did a perfect railfan-style hard about face, squealing tires on the wet pavement, and snagged afew grab shots of her...
