It's not much right now but here are some pics of my HOn3 layout.

train layout pictures by jbrundt - Photobucket

I built the room specifically for the layout a few years ago. It's taken me that long to get to the point where it is now and I can actually run trains. All the trackage has been laid and the Digitrax system has been installed. track is ME code 55, Fast tracks #6, #4 turnouts and wyes. Roadbed is homasote from California Roadbed. The turn table is from Diamond Scale Products.

I know it's not spectacular but it's my little railroad empire.....

Interesting pictures. Your layout has made some progress already. You can run trains.

Nice combination of running and operation. Should keep you busy for a long time.

That's a lot of operation a this room. I like it.
Any chance to add a staging track? Perhaps a cassette staging???

One of the legs of the wye leads under that mountain in the lower right corner and exits out thru the wall of the train room.

My plan is to add a staging yard there. It won't be permanent since that portion of the basement is used for other things and I can't leave anything in place. It would only be for operating sessions.

I would have liked to have a staging track on the long, straight run on the one wall but it will be hidden by terrain and it's a 4% grade....it will be accessible for emergencies like stalls or derail but not practical for staging. Thus the result of the wye.

Being a fan of staging, I like your idea.
