Here's a photo of my first (and only, so far) ex-CR SD70MAC: I was lucky to catch this unit.... it was clocking about 45 mph (there was no hope of catching the trailing unit, CSX # 91 ) Maybe I'll be fortunate enough to catch some more of these! Harold
Man! What a great shot for how fast it was going! Is that the old SCL that parallels Rt. 301 through Benson?

Nice pics! One question - I thought the AC-powered units turned over from Conrail were SD80MAC's, not SD70MAC's. Also, here's a poorer shot of one I got in Cumberland, MD. [ 15 July 2001: Message edited by: jdcheng ]</p>
someone please correct me if I get this wrong the 30 CR SD80MAC were split 2 ways 17 to NS (2 repainted) 13 to CSX (1 repainted) CR was to order another 30 SD80MAC but nether CSX or NS wanted more SD80MAC so the order was changed to 25 SD70MAC for CSX (arived in CR paint) 15 SD70 for NS (also arived in CR paint)

In summary, CR ordered the only SD80MAC's built, and had more on order before the split, however the portion of the order which was allocated to CSX in the takeover was changed to SD70MAC's, so CSX has both!
