    The choice of road numbers did not make sense to me so I
    asked about it on the B&O group at Yahoo

    Here is the information on B&O FT numbering, paraphrased
    and summarized from James Mischke's detailed reply to my
    question

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Baltimore_and_Ohio/message/4577

    B&O bought 6 FT ABBA "locomotives": B&O 1, 3 and 5 in Sep 1942
    and B&O 7, 9 and 11 in Oct 1943. (Added DB) (In their sales plan
    EMD envisioned ABBA sets always running together -- a dream that
    most FT owners modified fairly quickly).

    =====

    In 1947 the ABBA sets were broken up into AB sets for better
    utilization. B&O 11 was one AB set; B&O 11A was the other AB set.

    =====

    In 1948 AB sets 1-11 became 101-111 and AB sets 1A-11A became 102-112.

    =====

    So it appears that MTL has chosen to represent ABBA set B&O 11 in two AB
    halves: B&O 11 (as delivered) and B&O 112 (renumbered).
