The SCRS has taken delivery of new MTH streamline passenger cars for the Atlantic Coast Line and Southern Railway's.

Ten cars for each road - the RPO's will arrive later.

The cars are almost full of people - good revenue trains. The details on the cars are very sharp. The end car diaphrams even have striker plates.

The ACL road name boards are in Purple and the roofs are painted black. The obs car drumhead has "The Champion" on it.

The Southern cars have the standard name boards. The obs car drumhead has "The Tennessean" on it, however will have the Southern Crescent E-8's pulling the train.

Over all I am well pleased with MTH's quality.

One other thing. Sorry to be out of pocket so long, I was released from the hospital last monday. I was scheduled for a stress test in November. During the stress test(s) plus, it was confirmed that I had three large arteries plugged up. I felt good, no stroke, no seisure nor a heart attack. I was amitted to Greenville Memorial Hospital that afternoon.

I have been home for one full week and getting around OK. Weak or no weak, those passenger train boxes arrived and had to be opened. A friend of mine (also a model railroader) took care of getting the cars out of the boxes, lubed and on the tracks.

I enjoyed about and hour and a half operating these trains today.

One word of advice to all who may have a stress test scheduled. 'Pack a bag and take it with you to the test - you just may NOT get to return home.

Well - good news, bad news, and good news.

Glad to hear that you've gotten your passenger cars. From the photos I've seen those MTH passenger cars are real good looking. Have to have a least a few pangs of envy that you can run main line name trains.

Sorry to hear that you had to have a stress test done. So far I've had two and would rate them right up there with dentistry without anasthesia, not fun.

But, the final news was apparently good.

Take care of yourself and give about two weeks to feel back up to par.

    Good afternoon Dave.

Yes. These cars are more than the 'just run of the mill'. I will be taking some photos before long. Will send you some copies.

The ACL and SOU RPO's arrived and are really sharp with lots of detail. These cars now make these two trains really long. The Southern Crescent has 12 cars on it and the Atlantic Coast Line 11 cars.

Perhaps MTH will also issure an RPO and a two car set (coach and Baggage) for Seaboard Air Line. The Silver Comet needs about three more cars.
