A friend answered me: 'Micro-Trains Couplers'. Well, I am not sure about that. [IMG]

MTC stands for Mechanical Temperature Control.

However, I do not see much evidence of mechnical refrigeration equipment on this model. There IS a bit of a plate on the right end, under the ladder. Perhaps the vents and louvers of the refrigeration equipment are modeled on the other side of the car...

I checked the "properties" of the photo Thieu posted which shows that it is a Bachmann catalogue picture.

I have a very similar car from Bachman which is not actually a refrigerator car but a plugdoor boxcar... which could represent an AAR class XI insulated boxcar. I painted my car for Santa Fe.

Since this car has no refrigeration equipment, it is not marked "MTC". But it is counted as a member of Santa Fe's refrigerated fleet, class RR-57. Since it is actually a variety of boxcar, it is in the "mineral brown" boxcar color, but as sort of an "honorary refrigerator car", it has a reefer orange door!
